Rado Sales Salon Event

EVENTS

Rado is a globally recognised Swiss watch brand, famous for innovative design and its use of revolutionary materials to create some of the world’s most recognisable and durable watches. Ever since its beginnings in Lengnau, Switzerland, Rado has had a pioneering spirit, and the brand philosophy “If we can imagine it, we can make it” still holds true today.
The recipient of numerous prestigious international design awards, and with one eye firmly focused on the future, Rado is regarded as the most forward thinking design player in watchmaking today. Specialising in high-tech ceramic watches, Rado has gone from one breakthrough to the next and has a long and proud history of innovation, continually introducing the unexpected into Swiss watchmaking.

Master of Materials

The launch of the Master Of Materials range called for an experiential, sophisticated and personalised event. Inviting both retailers and media agents, this event captured the best of what the watches have to offer, with pockets of information and displays that allowed for great photos, one on one discussions and even a private meeting space for those ready to place orders. The range was elegantly displayed and paired with delicious food, exquisite drinks and timeless décor pieces. The venue captured all that is luxury, and made the guests feel as exclusive as each unique piece.

Setup

Setup began the day before the event, and started off with just the Loud team on site. First order of business was building up our custom-made banner wall. Conceptualised by Loud to fit the large scale artworks as one flowing piece, it was the brain child of the event team and as a once-off, needed some adjustments on the day. Next came our furniture delivery. This included beautiful, brand new furniture, made to fit our colour scheme by Inspire Furniture Rentals, and a boardroom table fit for the upmarket brand. The watch displays were set up one by one to match the nuances of each watch, pairing elegance and sophistication with one-off décor pieces to match.
The placement was followed by the delivery of our own mini garden. Trees for the balcony, and ferns, bushes, and flowers for the displays really made the pieces stand out. One guest even commented on the “jungle” around the displays. Our team continued on into the night: placing, repotting, taping down electrical wires, rearranging furniture and filling jars to the brim with luxurious Lindt chocolate. Only when we were 100% satisfied did we pack up and call it a day.

On the day

Arriving before the sun came up, the team made sure each element matched the precision of the brand. We turned on the Jazz, loaded up the product videos, and made sure the bar was well stocked. Just before 10AM the first guests arrived, and we popped the Moet. Gourmet food, prepared by chef Sylvester Nair, paired with the time of day left no crumb behind on the serving platters. The brief to the chef was to “play” in the kitchen, and each dish was more delicious than the last.
Over the course of 2 days guests came and went, with appearances from major Rado retailers, some big media names, and even the brand ambassador, Proverb. With the opportunity to take a break from the bustling Sandton lifesyle in our casual lounge, or take in the views with some bubbly from the balcony, or the ultimate luxury in the Penthouse suite, it reminded the guests how important they are to the Rado family. With Rado staff on hand to discuss each piece in the Master of Materials range, along with 8 unique and sensory displays, the guests got to experience Rado in a personal and engaging way.

Event Feedback:

“Oooohs”, “ahhs” and “wows” were heard as the guests entered the penthouse. The most common feedback from the event was that they enjoyed the “break from day to day business”. They loved that they could get lost in the event, which felt more like a Sunday lunch with friends than a press event.
The guests noticed the Master of Materials theme pulled through, with the quality and uniqueness of the items paired on the displays. The Penthouse was the ideal venue to emphasise quality through out.
